Psalms — Psalm 105:1-22 – But You Said . . .

Day 2720: Happy Monday! Remember, Mondays are 1/7 of your life so MMM – Make Mondays Matter!!!

Scripture:  Oh give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples. Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; speak of all His wonders. Glory in His holy name; let the heart of those who seek the Lord be glad.

Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His face continually. Remember His wonders which He has done. The word which He commanded to a thousand generations, the covenant which He made with Abraham, and His oath to Isaac.

He sent a man before them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave. They afflicted his feet with fetters, he himself was laid in irons; until the time that His word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him.

Then the king sent and released him, the ruler of peoples, and set him free. He made him lord of his house and ruler over all his possessions, to imprison his princes at will, that he might teach his elders wisdom.  Excerpts from Psalm 105:1-22

Thoughts/questions: Doing what this Psalm commands would keep us very busy! Give thanks; call on His name; make known His deeds; sing praises; speak His wonders; glory in His name; have glad hearts; seek the Lord; and remember His wonders – busy indeed – let’s get started!

It’s very frustrating when someone doesn’t follow through on what they’ve said. God knows that and this Psalm states that between the time of a challenge and the time God’s promise is fulfilled, that is a time of testing. However, God does not leave us without examples of those who experienced this time lapse test. Here, Joseph is remembered.

Do not lose heart; God’s timing is not ours and His ways are not ours! Stay faithful!

Suggested Prayer: Father God, I want answers and I want them now. Help me to patiently trust . . .
