Psalms — Psalm 110 – A Perfect Mediator!

Day 2733: We’ve all got 24 hour days – use your hours wisely!

Scripture: The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies! Your people shall be volunteers in the day of Your power; in the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning, You have the dew of Your youth.

The Lord has sworn and will not relent, “You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” The Lord is at Your right hand; He shall execute kings in the day of His wrath. He shall judge among the nations, He shall fill the places with dead bodies, He shall execute the heads of many countries. He shall drink of the brook by the wayside; therefore He shall lift up the head.  Psalm 110

Thoughts/questions: Most agree that this Psalm refers to The Messiah. And Yeshua, Jesus, is our current high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

What does that mean? Glad you asked! The Jewish high priests came from the tribe of Levi as their role was due to being birthed in the right tribe. However, Melchizedek was not a high priest because of his lineage – no, he was assigned that position.

And our Great High Priest was also assigned His position – not by birth, but by earning the right to be our forever high priest by sacrificing Himself for us! And as our high priest, He has freed us to come to God’s throne any time and any day and any place. And as our Mediator, we have NOTHING to fear!

Suggested Prayer: Dear Jesus, may I sacrifice my life for others as You did for me . . .
