Psalms — Psalm 113 – The Great Equalizer!

Day 2736: Another TGIF to Thank God I’m Forgiven!

Scripture: Praise the Lord! Praise, O servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord! Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and forevermore! From the rising of the sun to its going down the Lord’s name is to be praised. The Lord is high above all nations, His glory above the heavens.

Who is like the Lord our God, Who dwells on high, Who humbles Himself to behold the things that are in the heavens and in the earth? He raises the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the ash heap, that He may seat him with princes— with the princes of His people. He grants the barren woman a home, like a joyful mother of children.  Psalm 113

Thoughts/questions: There are times we might think we deserve God’s attention. After all, He created us and asks us to call Him Father. But here the Psalmist brings us back to reality – Who humbles Himself to behold the things that are in the heavens and in the earth.

We’re not worthy, BUT . . . And not only does He watch over us, He lifts the needy out of the ash heap, that He may seat him with princes. There are times it happens on earth, but it surely does in heaven – the great equalizer! We will all be seated together – both princes and paupers!

With all the division that strongly characterizes today’s world, the unity that exists in heaven is even more inviting! Some day there will be no more tears, pain, OR division amongst us. Come Lord Jesus, come!

Suggested Prayer: Dear Jesus, I look forward to being one with all my brothers and sisters in heaven, and maybe even now . . .
