Psalms — Psalm 125 – Immovable!

Day 2788: Hang on – life can be a roller coaster!!!

Scripture: Those who trust in the Lord are as Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people from this time forth and forever. For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest upon the and of the righteous, so that the righteous will not put forth their hands to do wrong.

Do good, O Lord, to those who are good and to those who are upright in their hearts. But as for those who turn aside to their crooked ways, the Lord will lead them away with the doers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel.  Psalm 125

Thoughts/questions: One of my favorite views is a mountain range at dusk. When the mountains are dark and appear as a giant monolith against the disappearing sky. A single massive creation with implied power and an eternal nature. Impressive!

I’d love to see Mount Zion at dusk! Some day maybe. But when I, as one who trusts in the Lord, am as Mount Zion – Wow! Truly abide forever; cannot be moved; yes – impressive!

And a side note – the Psalmist refers to those who turn aside and sin – we make a choice – for better or for worse. No blame! We must take responsibility for our choices!

Suggested prayer: Almighty Father, I know I can’t measure up to your standard; help me to continue to trust . . .
