Luke — Speak The Truth!

Day 3100: Always look up!

Scripture: When the men came to Jesus, they said, “John the Baptist sent us to You to ask, ‘Are You the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?’” At that very time Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind. So He replied to the messengers, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of Me.”  Luke 7:20-23

Thoughts/questions: Jesus could easily have given a treatise or doctoral paper in answer to the question in today’s verses. However, He merely stuck with the observable facts which no one could argue about.

For us, this is a great example. When we share with someone, biblical facts and a knowledge of prophecy are great, but sharing what God has done in our lives is often the preferred option. No one can argue with our personal testimony! After Jesus stated, “report to John what you have seen and heard,” He had the ‘stuff’ to back it up!!

As Christ followers, all things have become new and God has changed our hearts of stone, so we have some ‘stuff’ of our own! When given an opportunity to share about God, your knowledge should take second place to your experience! Share your stuff!

Suggested Prayer: Dear Jesus, may I always share with others the wonderful things You’ve done in my life . . .
