Luke — Faith, Love, and Works!

Day 3103: Mondays – Make those Mondays Matter! MMM

Scripture: Then Jesus turned toward the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give Me any water for My feet, but she wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not put oil on My head, but she has poured perfume on My feet.” Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” The other guests began to say among themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?” Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.” Excerpts from Luke 7:44-50

Thoughts/questions: This woman, whom some consider to be Mary, displayed pretty much the whole gamut of salvation. She was purposeful and intentional regarding what she was doing; she loved Who Jesus was; she demonstrated her love through the work of anointing His feet with expensive oil; and Jesus acknowledge that all of the above was an illustration of her faith, which resulted in her salvation!

So let’s compare our spiritual journey with hers? When you came to Jesus, was it on a whim or something everyone else was doing, or was it fully intentional? Were you or have you fallen in love with Jesus? Has your life demonstrated that love in some way? Are you a person of faith or do you just go there when logic or personal control falls short?

This woman had it all! May we be sure to have experienced the same! And may we go in peace!

Suggested Prayer: Lord Jesus, may my love for You always be on display . . .
