Luke — He Knows!

Day 3112: In the midst of a troubled world, find your peace in Him!

Scripture:  An argument started among the disciples as to which of them would be the greatest. Jesus, knowing their thoughts, took a little child and had him stand beside Him. Then He said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in My name welcomes Me; and whoever welcomes Me welcomes the one who sent Me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.”  Luke 9:46-48

Thoughts/questions: Many of us remember the boxer, Muhammad Ali, stating, “I am the greatest” as a mere 22 year old. He certainly wasn’t using Jesus’ standard of the least being the greatest and in a not too many years from now, he will be remembered by only a few. Jesus would not have supported Ali’s claim to fame! Serve, be humble, be as a child, and then let God consider you great!

I’ve often heard someone remark as to how they are not saying what they’re thinking. That’s probably a tactful thing to do; however, we don’t slip one over on God. He knew His disciples thoughts and He KNOWS ours. As Christ followers we realize this, but sometimes tend to forget it – a reminder – He KNOWS each of your thoughts!

Whenever you can help a child, help them. Whether that be by buying at their lemonade stand or supporting a child in a third world country – HELP them!

Suggested Prayer: Almighty God, may Your words and example change my life . . .
