Luke — More Required of You?

Day 3125: My Fridays are like my M/T/W/TH/S/S’s – just sayin’ . . .

Scripture: “The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.  Luke 12:47, 48

Thoughts/questions: One of the blessings/curses that many U.S. God2me readers have is that they have been given much! The religious freedom; spiritual accessibility; and availability of Bibles we have in the U.S. far exceed that of many other nations throughout the world. Yes, myself and other U.S. citizens have truly been given so much!

So what’s the problem with this? Well, Jesus clearly tells us that the gift is not without responsibility whatever the country you live in. First, we are NEVER to take these blessings for granted! When is the last time you thanked God for living in the U.S. even with its faults? Be grateful!

Also, those who have are asked to give! Often the ones who are materially blessed become mini hoarders. Not to an extreme, but if we check our cupboards and garages, many of us have more than enough!

And, those who have are to serve those who haven’t, not lord it over them! Jesus showed us how to serve – now it’s our turn!

For those who have been given much, be thankful, give, and serve!

Suggested Prayer: Lord Jesus, whatever You ask of me, may I be willing to do . . .
