Personal Sharing — The Importance of an Adjective!

Day 3171: A very sad day for the U.S. yesterday. Someone’s lying, and the repercussions, no matter who the culprit is, will impact the U.S. for a long time!

Scripture: For me to live is Christ! Philippians 1:21a   And Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment.”  Matthew 22:37,38

Thoughts/questions:  An adjective is placed before a noun to describe it. How are you described? Do you describe yourself as a Republican or a Democrat or other? Citizen of whatever country? By race? By culture? By your area code? Maybe by gender?

These can all be good descriptors, but how they’re arranged can be very important and speak loudly regarding what you consider to be most important. Are you a ‘race’ ‘gender’ named ‘X’? Do you describe yourself as a ‘political party’ ‘country’ person?

How about this? I am a Christ following ‘gender’ who also is a ‘race’ ‘political party.’ For example, for me it would I am a Christ following man who is a white Republican! Nothing should come before Jesus as we describe ourselves! Our primary identity is in Him, and we should speak it as well!

We all should have lots of positive adjectives describing us, but the FIRST on that list has to be the Lord your God!

Suggested Prayer: Dear Lord, may I speak confidently that You are the number one characteristic of my life . . .
