James — Three Thoughts!

Day 3200: TGIF – Another Friday to Thank God I’m Forgiven!!!!

James: When I am suffering, I should pray.  When I am cheerful and happy, I should sing praises. When I am sick, I should call for the elders of the church to pray over me and anoint me with oil in the name of the Lord.  James 5:13, 14

Thoughts/questions:  When I am suffering, I should pray:  We go to our best friends when we really are hurting.  God’s friendship is even better.  He knows us more than our best friends do. NOTHING is too small for Him (nor too big)  As soon as a hard time arises – tell Him all about it and seek His comfort and peace!

When I am cheerful and happy, I should sing praises:  A line in a song is ‘every creature unique in the song that it sings’ – God has given every one of us the ability to sing words to Him that reflect our thankfulness and tell Him about how awesome we think He is.  Get out those worship CD’s, buy some if you don’t already have them, and fill your life with songs of praise to the living God of the universe!

When I am sick, I should call for the elders of the church to pray over me and anoint me with oil in the name of the Lord:  This is more than a reflection of the health care at the time.  When we are sick, our ULTIMATE source of healing is God and He is to be the sole object of our trust.

What a friend we have in Jesus!  Talk to Him, sing to Him, and trust in Him!

Suggested prayer:  Father, thank You so much for always being there for me. You truly are the awesome God . . .
