Luke — Recognizing Jesus!

Day 3207: Praise God from Whom all blessings flow . . .

Scripture: They (2 men on the road to Emmaus) got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the eleven and those with them, assembled together and saying, “It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.” Then the two told what had happened on the way, and how Jesus was recognized by them when He broke the bread.  Luke 24:33-35

Thoughts/questions: When do we recognize Who Jesus is? For sure when we ask Hm into our lives, but when else? At Christmas? When someone does a loving deed? When nature speaks loudly to us? When a little or big miracle happens to us or someone we know? When a piece of toast seems to be shaped like Jesus’ face? (I had to throw that one in!) But do we ever recognize Him in the face of someone who thinks or believes differently than we do?

And when do people recognize Jesus in us? Hopefully often! As the old song says, ‘And they’ll know we are Christians by our love!’ So maybe we don’t need to focus on recognizing Jesus, but on others being able to recognize Him when they view our lives! As Christ followers, this should happen often – how’s it going?

Suggested Prayer: Lord Jesus, may I live my life in such a way that others see You . . .
