Luke — Just What Would Jesus Say?

Day 3208: Headed out to a generational weekend seeing both Moms and then grand daughter’s last soccer game of the season! So glad we serve a generational God!

Scripture: While they were still talking about this, Jesus Himself stood among them and said to them, Peace be with you.”  Luke 24:36

Thoughts/questions:  The popular song, ‘I Can Only Imagine’ asks how we’ll respond when we see Jesus. Today’s question is, ‘what would His response be when He sees us while we’re still on earth?’ We have a hint at just what that might be by what He said to His disciples when He first saw them – “Peace be with you.”

Jesus spoke about His peace for us many times. It must me one of His main desires for us as we negotiate life’s challenges both good and bad, as prosperity can often be just as spiritually challenging as adversity! There is a really good chance His first words would be regarding extending peace into our lives!

Peace – an illusive friend. One who hides when we are striving and taking control of our lives. One who is a special gift from the Holy Spirit when we trust completely. On a 1 – 10, what is your current level of peace with an absence of peace being a 1 and total peace being a 10.

Compare that to your trust level using the same scale. Seek peace and that striving can produce the opposite of what we’re seeking. Trust more and peace increases as well! Jesus’ words could be ‘peace be with you’ and the message behind that is trust me more and you will receive His gift of peace!

Suggested Prayer:  Dear Jesus, may my inner peace come from trusting You more . . .
